Madrid is the capital of Spain and a European capital of culture and finance. Madrid is served by the Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, also known as Madrid–Barajas Airport. The airport has been operational since 1931 and is widely visited by millions of travelers each year.

Madrid–Barajas Airport is located 9 kilometers from Madrid's city center and links the Iberian Peninsula with the rest of the world. With four terminals and one of the largest airport buildings in the world, Madrid to Barcelona flights take off from this airport for a reason. Terminal 4 was designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers, and is styled as a stress-free zone for travelers.

Getting to Madrid airport

Madrid–Barajas Airport is conveniently located within the city limits and is just 13 kilometers from Madrid's historic center. You can take the Madrid Metro's Line 8 and get off at Terminal 2 or at Terminal 4 stations. Terminals 1 and 3 can be accessed from Terminal 2 station. You can also choose to take EMT bus 200, which stops right outside terminals 1, 2 and 4. Other options include taking taxis and private cars, but these can prove to be very expensive. Getting to Barcelona

With its Baroque buildings and modern architecture, Barcelona is a global center of fashion, art and culture. There is always something to see and do in this vibrant Catalan city. Arriving to the city centre

Barcelona–El Prat Airport is connected to the city center via buses, trains and the metro. Hop on the Rodalies commuter train from T2 station and get off at the Passeig de Gracia station in central Barcelona. You can also take the L9 Sud (orange line) of Barcelona Metro at the Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 stations. This line is connected to other lines which go towards the city center. An easier option is to take the Aerobus direct transfers from T1 and T2 to Placa Catalunya in the heart of the city.
