Manila sights and attractions

The capital of the Philippines, Manila boasts a welter of sights and attractions that range from its downtown historical centre and distinct architecture to the vast shopping malls, bustling markets, amusement parks and world's oldest Chinatown. For over 300 years, Manila was a Spanish colony, which left its mark on the city not only in the form of colonial buildings and churches that still stand today but on its cuisine as well, and visitors will find that some of the tastiest Spanish food on the Asian continent can be sampled in Manila. There are also many lively areas for night owls, green spaces for relaxation and colorful festivals throughout the year.
