"We missed the connecting link between Rome and Brindisi due to a problem at Rome Airport with the gangway when our first flight from Bristol arrived. Alitialia did not allow us to check online previously (despite best efforts) as it is against their policy to do so if travelling with an infant. i would not fly with Alitialia again for this reason as if we have been checked in online, we would have made our original flight. As it was, we had to purchase new flight tickets for a later flight which cost us a fortune. Neither Alitalia nor Edreams alerted us to this policy when booking with an infant."

"Surcharges comments: We had to pay E309.49 for seats on a later flight due to not being allowed to check in in advance and problems with Rome Airport gangway. We had to wait in Rome for 4 hours and therefore pay for extra food and drink for a family of 4."
