"Surcharges comments: I was made to pay 35 euros to check my bag in when actually boarding the plane. I measured my bag at home and it was within Ryanair's size guidelines plus I have flown all over the world with many different airlines and never had a problem before. I would suggest that you check the measurements of your bag cages that are place at the boarding gates as I think you will find they are smaller than the specified ryanair measurements.There were also many bags much bigger than mine that were allowed to be carried onto the plane - I can only assume that the air stewardess did not like the look of me....."

"Petty restrictions on cabin baggage means that you concentrate on those rather than remembering to bring gifts for family friends etc! Has to be a money making exercise as you still carry on the same weight, but means that for me Ryanair is only an option if there is no other airline"
