"Lufthansa has a reputation of being an internationally renowned airline, however I must say that I was very disappointed with the service of staff at airports and with the general structure of take off/arrival schedules. I booked my ticket on Lufthansa from London to Amsterdam with a stopover in Frankfurt and our plane was delayed on both our arrival and departure flights and as a result we missed our connecting flights and had to spend several extra hours in Frankfurt airport, London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schipol. For a two-day trip, the stopovers caused us a lot of delays and we lost almost 12 hours in total.
Since our flight was delayed from Heathrow to Frankfurt, ground staff gave our seats to other Lufthansa passengers who were on standby from the USA. When we arrived, the ground staff were just closing the gate; and we could have made our flight but since they had already given away the seats, we were not permitted to board. This is highly unprofessional conduct, considering that we (and 12 other passengers) literally ran to make our connecting flight and arrived just on time, only to realize that we had to wait for the next flight. Additionally, we were not awarded any compensation for this (no body gave us complimentary meal vouchers, took us to your VIP lounge etc) although our delay was over 4 hours long.
When returning from Amsterdam, our plane was delayed again and we were on the plane for over an hour simply waiting to take-off, but were not provided with any service. Once we arrived at Frankfurt Airport (once again to find we had missed our connecting flight to London), your ground staff were not very sympathetic to the needs of passengers and were very abrupt and rude in rebooking us onto the next flight.
Due to the inconveniences caused by delays, the unprofessionalism of your ground staff and the lack of organization at various major international airports, I can safely say that I and my family will not be flying with your airline again."
