About Mexicana
Mexicana headquarters are located in Mexico City International Airport. The airline offers daily flights to over 50 airports located in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Mexicana was founded in July 1921 when its first flight took off from Mexico City to Tuxpan, a service that had previously been run by the Mexican government.
Mexicana is the fourth oldest airline in the world, just after KLM, Avianca and Qantas Airlines. In 2000, the airline became a member of the Star Alliance group, however, it withdrew its membership three years after. Just one year later (2004) Mexicana signed several code share agreements with Iberia and American Airlines.
Mexicana currently owns the low cost airline Click Mexicana, which offers domestic flights to 20 Mexican cities, and has offices in Mexico City, Guadalajara and Veracruz. Mexicana operates with a fleet of 61 aircrafts and carries over 9 million passengers each year. www mexicana com
