During the 2006 renovation of the building its façade and structure, typical of the historic quarter Madrid de los Austrias, were preserved in their original style. The air-conditioned buildings have a terrace outside and comprise a total of 169 rooms, of which 5 are junior suites and 2 are suites. A few metres away are the government building Congreso de los Diputados and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Other major museums and sights are a short walk from the hotel, as well as the commercial and tourist district, centring on the vibrant street of Gran Via. Close by there are is also a bus stop and Atocha railway station. Barajas Airport is approximately 15 km from the hotel.
