There are a variety of restaurants and bars located close to the hostel, including the Cougar Lounge bar/restaurant. The immediate vicinity also offers convenient links to the public transport network from Leith. Princes Street, Edinburgh's main shopping mile, can be accessed directly using the nearby bus lines. The nearest shops are located around 1 km away and the centre of Edinburgh, a train station, a bus station and various nightclubs are 2 km away. In addition, the tourist centre of Castle and Portobello beach are 3 km away. The hostel does not serve meals. There is a fully fitted kitchen provided and there are various restaurants within 200 m of the hotel. The dormitories include bunk beds, so that 6 to 14 persons are able to sleep in one room. There is a separate seating area integrated into the kitchen. Women and men are offered separate bathrooms with toilets and hairdryers. Ironing facilities are also available. It is possible to check in between 11 am and 11 pm. All guests must cater for themselves. Minimum age of guests is 16 years. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building. There are no lockers available, so guests must take care of their own belongings. HOSTEL 2* VISA is accepted as a method of payment. Occasionally there are karaoke evenings and film nights held in the hostel.

Useful distances:

If guests are arriving from the airport, then take bus number 35, right to the hostel. Those arriving by train, go to Princes Street and cross the street to the bus stop.
