The light rail metro system connects the airport to Esenler. Havas airport buses run to central Istanbul (Taksim Square) and to the bus terminal on demand (journey time: 30 minutes). Services also run to Akmerkez (Etiler). Taxis or dolmus (shared taxis) are available from the airport. Both city and private bus services operate in Istanbul. The suburban train network is old but reliable and inexpensive. Istanbul's metro is under construction, though some lines are already in service; it's inexpensive, with frequent services.
