To and from the airports

Flights from Brussels

Brussels is an important European city that is known for being the headquarters of the European Union. It is served by Brussels-South Charleroi Airport and the larger, Brussels Airport. Brussels Airport is located well within the city but Charleroi Airport is farther away.

Brussels Airport is one of the busiest in Europe and has been in use since 1940. It has just one terminal but it is able to accommodate heavy air traffic. Charleroi Airport is much smaller and is mostly used by budget airlines. Cheap flights to Malta may sometimes leave from Charleroi Airport and, at other times, from Brussels Airport.

Getting to Brussels airport

Flights from Brussels to Malta may depart from either Brussels Airport or Charleroi Airport. If your flight is leaving from Charleroi, get to Grand Place and walk to Brussels-South railway station. From there, take the coach service to Charleroi Airport. The distance is around 46 kilometers, so plan to leave in advance. If your flight is leaving from Brussels Airport, all you need to do is reach the same railway station and hop onto the airport train. Another option is to take the Airport Line bus from Grand Place. There are also several taxi services available, which are comfortable and safe to use.

Getting to Malta

Malta is an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea and is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe. Its capital is Valletta, which has a number of buildings dating back to medieval times. Begin your journey at Il-Baviera, a beautiful neighborhood known for its old bakeries and stone-built buildings. Malta is famous for its beaches and villages, which you will have to explore on your own. Try to discover traditional Maltese cuisine, which is heavily influenced by both Italian and Greek cuisines. Head toward Paceville, which is famous for its nightclubs and bars. Eminent DJs such as Tiesto and Paul Oakenfold regularly perform in Malta.

Arriving to the city centre

Malta International Airport, also known as Luqa Airport or Valletta Airport, is the only commercial airport in Malta. All Malta flights land at this airport. The Airport Express services are a great way to get to different parts of the island. X1 route takes you to Cirkewwa, the Maltese harbor. From here, you can take boats to other islands. To reach the resort town of Sliema, take the X2 bus. Bugibba is easily connected to the airport by bus route X3. To reach Valletta, the capital city, hop on an X4. There are also taxis and regular buses available to reach various destinations within the island.
