Brussels Airport is one of the busiest in Europe and has been in use since 1940. It has just one terminal but it is able to accommodate heavy air traffic. Charleroi Airport is much smaller and is mostly used by budget airlines. Cheap flights to Malta may sometimes leave from Charleroi Airport and, at other times, from Brussels Airport.
Flights from Brussels to Malta may depart from either Brussels Airport or Charleroi Airport. If your flight is leaving from Charleroi, get to Grand Place and walk to Brussels-South railway station. From there, take the coach service to Charleroi Airport. The distance is around 46 kilometers, so plan to leave in advance. If your flight is leaving from Brussels Airport, all you need to do is reach the same railway station and hop onto the airport train. Another option is to take the Airport Line bus from Grand Place. There are also several taxi services available, which are comfortable and safe to use.
