Sweden: info and things to do

Sweden is a Scandinavian country and is the third largest in terms of land mass in the EU. It is famous for its sweeping forests, plentiful lakes and long winding coastline. Due to its rich landscapes and a wealth of flora and fauna it contributes to the ever-growing wildlife. The Swedes believe in a "work hard and play harder" philosophy, with most of the shops shutting up by 5:00 pm. Most flights to Sweden land at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport and Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport. Some of the other international airports like Bromma or Malmo airports also cater to airlines from European destinations. You can get good deals if you book early with SAS (Scandinavian Airlines), Norwegian Airlines or Ryanair.

Stockholm, the capital city, is an archipelago made up of 14 islands connected by 57 bridges and a series of bays, rivers and waterways. This architecturally most visually captivating city is located on the east coast of Sweden. Its trendsetting nightclubs and vibrant restaurants make this a destination where modernity meets serenity. Gothenburg is on the world map of food bloggers and international gourmet journalists. This city has the tourists eating out of their hands with world-class restaurants, finger licking seafood and a coastline to die for. You can't pass up a visit to the Vasa Museum, the Fairytale Drottningholm Palace, or a stroll through the Old Town in Stockholm or travel the waterways and canals that traverse the entire country.
