Flights from Rome

Rome is Italy's capital and one of Europe's most important cities. With history dating back thousands of years, Rome is an archaeological treasure. The city is served by Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport located within city limits, and the larger Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, located much farther away.

Cheap flights from Rome to Amsterdam may leave from either Fiumicino or Ciampino airports. Ciampino is conveniently located in the city, where as Fiumiciano is 35 kilometers away. Fiumiciano Airport's alternative name comes from the famous renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci. Today, it serves as the primary airport of Rome.

Getting to Rome airport

To catch flights from Rome to Amsterdam, confirm the airport from which your plane is departing. If your flight is taking off from Fiumicino, arrive at Termini Station in central Rome and take the Leonardo Express; in just 30 minutes, you will be at the airport. If your flight is leaving from Ciampino Airport, you are indeed lucky. This airport is located in the city and can easily be reached by bus. All you need to do is reach Termini Station and take a bus from outside the railway station to Ciampino Airport. You can also take taxis to both the airports, but bear in mind that Rome suffers heavy traffic.

Getting to Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of the great European capitals with an ample number of things to see and do. Begin your day at the Oude Kerk, which is the oldest structure in Amsterdam having been built in 1306. Discover the 17th century canals and ride bicycles on the narrow lanes that adjoin the waterways. Spend time at one of the many cafes for which Amsterdam is very famous. Do not forget to pay a visit to Stelling van Amsterdam, a collection of 42 forts built around Amsterdam to stop flooding. Head toward De Wallen as the sun sets for some nocturnal activities.

Arriving to the city centre

If you are arriving from Rome to Amsterdam, you will land at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The airport is not very far from the city and is easily accessible. Take a train at either Platform 1 or 2 to reach Amsterdam Central Station. Connexxion runs a special Amsterdam Airport shuttle service, which is a great way to reach the city. Bus route 197 allows you to reach downtown Amsterdam in a short while. If you are traveling to Amsterdam South, hop on bus route 310. There are also taxis, trams and buses available to various neighborhoods of Amsterdam.
