Amsterdam may be known for its famed canal system, museums and history, but it is home to more than a million Dutch and foreign residents. Its primary airport, Schiphol Airport, welcomes 58.2 million passengers a year; it is also an important cargo centre. A modern airport, Schiphol has six runways and one terminal with seven piers. The first airport library in the world was established at Schiphol and the earliest airport museum used to be located here. There are several places to eat in addition to duty free shops, car rental and ATMs. Free Wi-Fi is offered and you can relax, take a shower or meditate before boarding flights from Amsterdam to Geneva.

Schiphol is not far from the city centre at around 15km southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by taxi and several other methods. Shuttle services to take you to the airport can also be arranged through the hotels. Trains from the centre (Central Railway Station) go to the airport and the country is well-connected by rail from major cities such as The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. By bus, the Amsterdam Airport Express (route 197) serves the airport and you can catch it from convenient locations in town such as Leidseplein, Rijksmuseum and Museumplein. To return a rental car to the airport, drive on the A4 direction Schiphol.

Geneva is a sleek city that you don't want to miss, from its gleaming buildings to chic shops. Beyond the modern façade, Geneva has much more to offer its guests. Explore its scenic Old Town with the Cathedrale Saint-Pierre and Place du Bourg-de-Four, worth a visit for a crash course on its history. Marvel at its iconic water fountain, jet d'eau or visit the many international organizations that are represented in the city such as the International Red Cross and the Palais des Nations. Geneva Airport is the primary airport serving the city and is only 4 km away. To get to the city, you can take a taxi outside of the arrivals terminal. If using public transport, you will only need one ticket (unireso) valid on buses and trains. Arriving passengers should pick up their free unireso tickets from the machine at the baggage collection area; this ticket is valid for 80 minutes. By bus, routes 5, 10, 23, 28 and 57 stop at the check-in level of the airport. Trains also stop at the airport train station and downtown is just six minutes away. Free shuttle buses are also offered to passengers staying at Swiss Hotels.
