Bangkok is the gateway to Thailand and one of the largest cities in southeast Asia. Bangkok is served by two airports, the smaller Don Mueang International Airport and the much larger Suvarnabhumi Airport. Don Mueang International Airport is 23 kilometers away from the Siam area, whereas Suvarnabhumi Airport is much farther, around 30 kilometers away.

If you are traveling from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh, your flight may leave from either Don Mueang International Airport or Suvarnabhumi Airport. Suvarnabhumi Airport has been operational since September 2006. Before this, Don Mueang International Airport was the main airport serving Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of the busiest in Asia.

Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh flights may leave from either Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang International Airport. Confirm the airport from which your plane is leaving, and make the necessary travel arrangements to get there on time. If you are around the Siam area in the city center, take bus number 29 to reach Don Mueang International Airport. This journey may take around 30 minutes to an hour. To reach Suvarnabhumi Airport, all you need to do is hop on the Airport Link City Line at Phaya Thai station. You could also choose to take BTS bus 54 from the Siam area. There are taxis available to both the airports from various neighborhoods of Bangkok.

Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is the largest urban district in Vietnam. It is known for its French-influenced culture and historical buildings, dating back to the colonial era. Begin your journey at District 1, which is known for its wide Paris-style boulevards and graceful buildings. Spend time at the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Municipal Theatre, which are important landmarks in the city. Explore the Western Quarter in District 1 to try Vietnamese street food. Being a large metropolis, Vietnam has a number of shopping malls that rival those in Europe or North America. Do not forget to grab a drink at one of the many bars in Saigon.

Bangkok to Saigon flights land at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in the world. To reach District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City center, all you need to do is take a taxi from outside the terminal building. Just be sure to ask your driver to start the meter, as some may refuse to do so. You can also take the Airportbus 152 to reach De Than Street in the city center and costs less than a dollar to reach your destination. You can also find motorcycle taxis outside the airport, but use these at your own discretion and be sure to wear a helmet.
