Brussels is an important European capital and houses some of the most significant offices of the European Union. The city is served by Brussels Airport and Brussels South Charleroi Airport, also known as just Charleroi Airport. Brussels Airport is located well within the city, whereas Charleroi Airport is located 46 kilometers away.

Cheap flights to Split take off from either Brussels Airport or Charleroi Airport. Brussels Airport has been functioning since 1940 and is one of the busiest airports in Europe. Brussels South Charleroi Airport is mostly used by budget airlines and is quite far away from the city.

Getting to Brussels airport

Flights from Brussels to Split may leave either from Charleroi Airport or Brussels Airport. Confirm the airport from which your flight is taking off, and make the necessary plans in advance so that you do not miss your flight. If your plane is taking off from Charleroi Airport, arrive at Grand Place and walk to Brussels South railway station. Outside the station, you will find coaches that take you to Charleroi Airport. If your flight is taking off from Brussels Airport, take the airport train from Brussels-South railway station close to Grand Place. Taxis and private transfers are also available to reach both the airports if you are willing to meet the cost.

Getting to Split

Split is Croatia's second largest city and an important port and beach resort. Its history dates back to the Ancient Greeks, and today it is a popular tourist destination for those who enjoy beautiful buildings, warm climate and pristine sandy beaches. Begin your journey at the city center, which is known for its quaint architecture, interesting cafes and splendid boutiques. Head toward the nearby Riva promenade for a walk and soak in some sun while admiring the beauty of the sea. Visit the Archaeological Museum to learn more about Croatian culture and history. Finally, head to one of the many bars and clubs that dot the city and get a taste of Croatian nightlife.

Arriving to the city centre

Flights to Split land at Split Airport, which is located 24 kilometers from the city center. The easiest way to get to Split city center is by hopping on one of the large white buses run by Croatian Airlines. You do not have to be a passenger of Croatian Airlines in order to use their buses. The tickets cost around $7 and the bus will drop you off at Split Harbor. From here, you can walk to the Old Palace or to the Riva promenade, in the heart of the city. This journey takes around 40 minutes and is very comfortable. An alternate way is to hire a taxi.
