Getting to Madrid airport

Madrid-Barajas Airport is located about eight miles northeast of the city centre; the airport is linked to the city by rail and road. You can also opt for the city buses which run from central Madrid to the airport. The Metro Line 8 runs from the city centre to the airport terminals, especially T4. The modern suburban train line connects several locations in the city, such as Principe Pío, Chamartin and Atocha, to terminal T4 on the C-1 line. You can also opt for a taxi ride from your location to the airport, though it is advisable to pre-book the taxi prior to your travel date to avoid any potential delays.

From there, you can either travel by boat, bus or train for your onward journey. You will find the airport railway station at the airport arrival levels. Alternatively, there are taxi ranks at the airport and you can easily take a taxi to your location in the city. If you would like to explore the region, you can hire a car at the airport.

Had a little difficulty as I had to get down and then board a bus and then climb up the stairs and then board the flight. I found that a bit irritating but luckily as I had no baggage in hand it was ok bcos I am asthamatic and carrying and lifting is a problem always specially if I have to climb stairs
