Bangkok to Singapore flights

Direct Bangkok to Singapore flights run year-round, taking around 2 hours 30 minutes. Five airlines operate the non-stop route, offering up to 214 departures a week:

Most low-cost flights use Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), which has served the city since 1914, while most full-service flights leave from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).

Flights to Singapore depart from two airports in Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is located 25.7km from the city centre and is connected by the Airport Rail Link, which runs directly from Phaya Thai Station to help travellers avoid unpredictable road traffic. Major international carriers operating from the airport include Air France, British Airways, Emirates and Lufthansa.

Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is located 24km north of the Siam district and is served by several bus routes, including the A1, A2, A3, A4 and 29, with the A1 and A2 departing from Mo Chit BTS station. The SRT Dark Red Line also offers a modern rail link to the terminal. Other airlines flying from the airport include AirAsia and Nok Air.

Taxis are plentiful for both airports, but bus and road journeys can easily exceed an hour during the morning and evening rush.

Thai AirAsia operates flights from both airports. Thai Lion Air departures leave from Don Mueang International Airport.

U-Tapao Airport (UTP) also serves the wider area but does not offer flights on this route.

Flights land at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), located at the eastern end of the island. The airport hosts several major carriers, including Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.

The airport is connected to the city centre by several transport options:

• Mass Rapid Transit (MRT): trains on the East-West Line (green) via a change at Tanah Merah, or the Downtown Line (blue) via a transfer at Expo for Marina Bay
• Bus: line 36
• Taxi: available at stands outside every terminal 24 hours a day, taking within 30 minutes to central locations
• Private hire apps: popular and easy to use for city transfers

The MRT also serves the Orchard Road area via the Somerset and Orchard stops.

Seletar Airport (XSP) also serves the area but does not receive flights on this route.

Singapore's major sights are closely grouped and connected by the MRT network. Well-known attractions include the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay near Marina Bay, and the historic Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site that is perfect for a morning walk.

Orchard Road is the main hub for international shopping brands, while Little India features local food and traditional architecture, offering a look at the city's heritage. For the best value meals, head to a local hawker centre rather than a restaurant.

Public transport is excellent, making it simple to move between the different districts. The city is highly walkable, particularly around the historic riverside areas.

Entry requirements

Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. Thai citizens get 30 days visa-free, but all visitors must submit the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) online within the three days before arriving.
