LEASE share this warn other tourists against MANGO AIRLINES conduct: NEVER EVER SURRENDER YOUR HAND LUGGAGE TO A MANGO AIRLINE OFFICIAL when boarding a plane...I was MUGGED BY MANGO AIRLINES: On Mango Flight JE134 to Johannesburg on route to Botswana when boarding the plane a Mango Airlines official asked for my hand suitcase to be handed to him. The luggage was not oversized and not overweight.. There was no reason for them to take it. The flight was not full either. The official did not intend to give me a sticker of receipt but I insisted on proof that he took my luggage. I got proof. I had no choice but to let it go and I did not argue either. As far as I know when an official takes your luggage you have to let it go as it can be a safety matter. However THEY LOST my hand luggage with my kindle video camera computer and iphone chargers and very important documents inside. Mango now tells me that Mango takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for the matter as the luggage was not checked in. Attached is the sticker they gave me the size of a R5 coin with indemnity printed on it. So basically: Mango Airlines tell their workers TO STEAL FROM PASSENGERS as Mango takes no responsibility. If anyone has any advice please email me to [email protected] on how to take this matter further. A person called Sfiso at Lost Luggage at Mango in Johannesburg was most helpful however a lady called Brenda his boss told me that yes a worker could have stolen the suitcase BUT Mango will not compensate me as the luggage was not checked in. Mango Airlines took my luggage gave me a sticker and then tells me it was not checked in!. My luggage when missing while it was in Mango Airline's hands.
