Skopje, the Republic of Macedonia's largest city, is served by Skopje Airport, which is also known as Skopje "Alexander the Great" Airport. The airport was named after Alexander the Great and it is the only international airport in the city. The airport handles flights to several domestic destinations across Macedonia and numerous international destinations across the world. Major airlines including Swiss, Lufthansa, Adria, Croatia, Austrian, Air Serbia and Pegasus operate several flights from this airport. The Skopje Airport is located about 17km southeast of the city centre. Getting to the airport from the city centre is easy to achieve through various means. You can easily access the airport via the A1/E75 motorway. Bus journeys from the city centre to the airport terminal are easy and convenient.

The Vardar Express bus runs from the airport to the railway station or bus station and some other locations including the Holiday Inn-Hotel Alexander. Skopje Airport has excellent parking facilities; you can drive your car to the airport and choose a suitable parking option.

This is the most convenient and fastest mode of transport from the airport to the city centre. If you are travelling to other Dutch destinations, there are direct trains at the airport station. There are airport shuttles operated by Connexxion, which connect the airport to many hotels in the city.
