The city of Amsterdam is an exciting blend of old and modern times as any resident will tell you. It is also the place where Schiphol Airport is located, the main gateway to the Netherlands by air. The airport is modern and has the capacity to handle 58.2 million passengers per year; it also manages a significant volume of cargo. In addition to standard amenities such as shops, restaurants and lounges, Schiphol offers a VIP service to passengers who wish to get work done or relax in peace. The area is separate from the terminal and, once flights are ready, a deluxe vehicle will whisk clients to the aircraft.
Schiphol is near to Amsterdam centre, about 15 km away. Taxis are some of the easiest ways to reach the airport and you can book your ride with the hotel or arrange for shuttle services. Trains are another way to connect to the airport from the city centre (Central Station). If driving a rental car and returning it at the airport, get on the A4 and follow the signs to Schiphol.
