Flights from Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) depart from two main terminals. The larger and newer one serves major carriers like ITA Airways and Vueling, while the other is primarily the base for low-cost airlines such as Ryanair. A free shuttle bus connects the two buildings, with the journey taking approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Reaching the airport from central Barcelona is straightforward. You can hop on the Rodalies commuter train from Passeig de Gràcia station or use the orange L9 Sud metro line. Frequent shuttle buses and taxis also provide quick access to both terminals.

Your journey ends at one of two gateways. Fiumicino Airport (FCO), also known as Leonardo da Vinci, is the primary international hub. The fastest way into the city is the Leonardo Express, a non-stop train by Trenitalia that reaches Termini Station in roughly 32 minutes. Alternatively, a private hire vehicle can take you directly to central districts like Trastevere, which is also well-connected to the airport by the FL1 regional train line.

If you land at Ciampino Airport (CIA), you are closer to the city centre, about 15 kilometres away. Dedicated bus services run from the terminal to the central metro network, and taxis are readily available at the ranks outside the arrivals hall.

Rome is a sprawling archaeological treasure where you can start your exploration at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Beyond the ancient sites, spend time wandering through the narrow streets of Trastevere or visiting the catacombs. A trip to the city is not complete without seeing the Spanish Steps or the many fountains and parks that define the city's unique landscape.
