Barcelona's heritage in architecture and art is one of the most impressive in the world. The city is served mainly by Barcelona El Prat Airport which operates two terminals. Terminal 1 handles most of the passengers and flights, while Terminal 2 is restricted to a limited number of flights mainly operated by regional carriers. The airport is one of the largest in the world.

At present, there are few direct flights from Barcelona to Washington airports. However, there over ten daily connecting flights with at least one stop via Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, New York City, London, Munich, Madrid to Philadelphia, Zurich and some other locations.

Getting to Barcelona Airport is made easy by the different travel options from which you can choose. You can use the special airport bus, Aerobus, which is designed to take 1-3 people. They have pick-up points at Plaça Catalunya, Sepúlveda-Urgell, and Plaça Espanya and the trip to the airport lasts approximately 35 minutes.

The Rodalies Commuter Train is another easy way to get to the airport using the R2 Nord Line. You can join the train at the Barcelona-Passeig de Gràcia station, which is in the city centre, or Barcelona Sants Train Station. You can take the regular buses from the same stations, but they make more stops along their respective routes.

The centre of attraction in the city is the iconic government structures: The Capitol Building, White House and Supreme Court. You can get in touch with nature at Rock Creek Park where you can take part in activities such as biking, riding, skating and running. You should also spend some time at the Tidal Basin especially if it's your first time in DC.

During spring, the landscape becomes a burst of beautiful colors from the cherry blossom trees. A visit to the United States Holocaust Museum will help you understand the historical situation better as every visitor is given a name of a real victim upon gaining entry.

At Baltimore-Washington International Airport, you can easily reach the city centre using the BWI Express Metro which operates between the airport and Greenbelt Metro Station. The Metro runs every 40 minutes and is located on the lower level of the International Concourse and the lower level of Concourse A/B. From Greenbelt Metro Station, you can connect with other Metro stations in Washington DC and the environs. From Dulles International Airport, the Silver Line Express bus connects the airport to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station which links to the city centre. For a direct transfer from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the city centre, taxis are the best option.
