Barcelona Airport, also referred to as El Prat because it is situated in the town of El Prat de Llobregat, is close to the city centre. Over 60 airline carriers operate from the airport with some major airlines offering competitive low flight costs.

There are usually several daily direct flights from Barcelona to New York airports: Newark Liberty International Airport or John F. Kennedy Airport. There are also over ten connecting flights via Madrid, Paris, Lisbon, London and Amsterdam. LaGuardia and Stewart International Airports presently do not have arrivals from Barcelona.

Barcelona has a well-connected transportation system; therefore, it is easy to use public transportation to access the airport. You can use the RENFE trains from the city centre, which runs every few minutes. But you should be aware that it only takes you to Terminal 2, however, there are free shuttles to connect you with Terminal 1.

The Aerobus services is also a good way to reach the airport. They have pick-up points in the metropolitan areas in the city; Line 46 goes from Barcelona Plaça Espanya to airport terminal T1 and T2 and there are also night buses, such as the N17, which goes to the airport directly from Pl. Catalunya.

When you get to New York City, you will find yourself in a fast-paced bustling environment, and it is only natural that you may feel pressured with so much to do and a lack of insider insight to make the best of your experience. At the Upper East Side, you can explore the city's best architecture and visit some museums and galleries.

A good starting point is at the corner of 88th Street and Fifth Avenue where you will find the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. No matter the season in which you are visiting New York, don't miss Central Park! If you are visiting for the first time, you should start at Columbus Circle.

If you arrive via John F. Kennedy Airport, there are various ground transport options to get you to the city centre. You can use the AirTrain to connect with Jamaica Station where lines serving Belmont Park, Babylon, Far Rockaway, Long Beach and others are available. From Newark International Airport, the AirTrain will take you to the airport's Rail Link Station which connects to Amtrak and the New Jersey Transit Lines. Both airports also operate private shuttle services and taxis are readily available outside the terminals. From LaGuardia Airport, you can take a taxi from any of the terminal buildings to midtown or your location in the city.
