Brussels to Antalya flights run non-stop in season to the Turkish Riviera. From Brussels Airport, direct flights are operated by SunExpress, TUI fly Belgium, Brussels Airlines, Corendon Airlines and Freebird, while Pegasus Airlines flies direct from Charleroi.

Fares start from 69€, and November usually offers the lowest prices of the year. Travellers search most for the trip in August, September and October, so book ahead for those months.

Most flights to Antalya depart from Brussels Airport (BRU), the city's main international airport, about 12km from the centre. You can reach it by the Airport Line bus or by train from Brussels-South railway station (Bruxelles-Midi), which stops directly under the terminal building.

The main terminal is divided into Pier A and Pier B. Turkey is outside the Schengen area, so flights to Antalya usually leave from Pier B; check your boarding pass for the gate.

Some low-cost flights leave from Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL). Flibco coaches run there from outside Brussels-South railway station, and the journey takes about 55 to 60 minutes, so allow time for the transfer and security. Taxis and private hire vehicles also serve both airports.

Flights land at Antalya Airport (AYT), about 13 kilometres from the city. The Antray light rail connects the airport with the main bus terminal and the central districts.

Alternatively, take the 600 public bus to the Otogar bus station, or a Havas shuttle. Taxis and private hire vehicles wait at designated ranks outside the arrivals exit of each terminal.

Entry requirements for Antalya

Turkey is outside the Schengen Area. Belgian citizens, like those of several other EU countries, can enter with a valid national ID card; British citizens need a passport valid for at least 150 days from the date of arrival.

Many nationalities can visit Turkey for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days, but check the latest rules with the Turkish Directorate General of Migration Management before you travel.

Antalya's historic Kaleici district is a maze of narrow streets lined with restored Ottoman-era houses, restaurants and bars. Start at Hadrian's Gate to see the city's Roman heritage, then head to Karaalioglu Park for views over the Gulf of Antalya.

On the coast, Konyaalti Beach is a long stretch of pebbles and clear water, and the city's museums cover the archaeology of the Lycian and Pamphylian regions.
