To and from the airports

Flights from Venice

Venice is an inspiring capital known for its stunning architecture and breathtaking art. It is also home to two important airports that serve the city. Venice Marco Polo Airport is the primary one and benefits from comfortable amenities. For a fee, the Marco Polo VIP Lounge offers hot/cold snacks, beverages and shower facilities. Wi-Fi connection is also available. Exclusive VIP Services are offered to business passengers including multilingual hostesses, porter and baggage services and a private minibus to the aircraft. At Treviso Airport, there are several shops and cafes as well as transport and car rental companies.

Getting to Venice airport

From Marco Polo Airport, you can reach Venice by taking a water taxi to your hotel. If you have not pre-booked this option, you can arrange for one on the day. Another method is to take the public ferry. Alilaguna operates waterbuses from the airport to different areas in Venice including San Marco, Arsenale, Lido and Murano. Buses and taxis can also take you into Venice, but only until Piazzale Roma at which point you still need to use a water taxi or boat. Treviso Airport is connected to Venice using efficient coach services operated by ATVO. Travel time is roughly 35-70 minutes and the last stop is Piazzale Roma.

Getting to Paris

Paris is often part of a bucket list and this is not difficult to understand. It is a centre for fashion, art and gastronomy. Admire art collections at museums, view splendid monuments, landmarks and cathedrals or relax in resplendent gardens. A peek into its hipster districts will tell you why it is a fashion mecca where creativity and ingenuity are at the fore. Then there is gorgeous French food and wine that will elevate dining to a higher level. For lovers of nightlife, Paris is happy to show off its talents with entertaining shows at the Moulin Rouge or operas/concerts at music venues in addition to bars and clubs that roar with life.

Getting to the city centre

Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Paris-Orly Airport are two important transport hubs for commuters on flights from Venice to Paris. From CDG, there are several ways to arrive at the centre of Paris with trains (RER B and SNCF) being suitable options. Buses also go to the centre of Paris as do taxicabs, shuttle buses and shared rides. To get to Paris from Orly Airport, you can ride trains and buses. Taxicabs are found at the exit of the baggage area outside of the terminal. Be mindful that licensed taxis are identifiable by the light on their roofs. They are metered so you should only pay what is displayed on the meter.

We had problems to arrive because something went wrong with the train. At the airport there were several improvements to the airport that interrupted ways and more than one lift wasn't working (this was an issue because we were traveling with a baby stroller besides our luggage).
