eDreams: What’s the thing you love most about travel?

Michael: It would be impossible for me to pick just one thing. I love the experience of just seeing how massive the planet is. I love food and wine from around the world — or at least a good number of places. I love finding a beach town I’ve never been to before and experiencing the slow life. I love riding buses and trains for days as the planet passes outside the window. I love meeting fellow travelers and exchanging stories. I love it all.

Why do you blog?

For me, it started for two reasons: first, to keep family and friends informed about my RTW-no-planes trip and second, as a note taking device for the book I wanted to write, and still want to write, about that journey. From there, it has turned into a profession.
