One of the most popular warm winter destinations is Cape Verde, the archipelago of fifteen islands in the Atlantic Ocean of Africa, where the average temperature is between 23-26ºC. For your trip to Cape Verde will need a very specific plan based on the islands you want to visit. This archipelago is composed of ten big islands and five small ones, so we recommend you to spend one week in the country to visit 1 or 2 big islands. But, if you have time enough to visit the entire archipelago, we recommend you to stay at least four weeks to do a deep dive inside the islands.

Moreover, you will need to take in consideration all the main places you cannot miss during your trip to Cape Verde. The 10 biggest islands of this archipelago are divided in 2 big categories: Barlovento Islands (in the north part of the island) and Sotavento Islands (in the south part of the island).

The Barlovento Islands (north) are:

Its historic centre of Angra do Heroísmo will make you fall in love. With a population of only 35 thousand inhabitants, it is one of the most beautiful places of the Azores, as well as being the capital of Terceira.
