Paris to Milan flights

Paris to Milan flights link the two European fashion capitals non-stop. Air France and ITA Airways fly from Charles de Gaulle to Milan Linate, and easyJet also flies the route.

Transavia flies from Orly to Milan Malpensa, and Ryanair flies to Milan Bergamo.

Flights to Milan leave from three airports serving the French capital.

Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), about 23km from the centre, is the largest and the base of Air France. The RER B regional train and buses 350 and 351 link it with central Paris, and the CDGVAL automated shuttle connects its terminals.

Orly Airport (ORY) is closer to the city centre, about 14km away, and is a major base for Transavia and short-haul flights. Metro line 14 and tram T7 reach Orly directly, or you can take the RER B to Antony and change to the Orlyval shuttle.

Beauvais–Tillé Airport (BVA), about 85 kilometres north of Paris, is used by Ryanair. A dedicated shuttle bus runs there from Porte Maillot.

Flights from Paris land at Milan Linate, Malpensa or Bergamo, each with its own link to the city centre:

• Milan Linate (LIN): the new M4 metro (Blue line) to Piazza San Babila in the heart of the city in about 12 minutes
• Milan Malpensa (MXP): about 49km out, the Malpensa Express train to Milano Cadorna and Milan Central Station in around an hour, or the Malpensa Shuttle bus to the central station
• Milan Bergamo (BGY): also known as Il Caravaggio, the Terravision and Orio Shuttle buses to central Milan

Taxis and private hire vehicles have dedicated pick-up points outside arrivals at all three airports.

Milan is a global capital of fashion and design, and its main sights sit close together in the centre:

• Duomo di Milano: the Gothic cathedral, with walks on its rooftop terraces among the spires
• Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II: the historic glass-roofed arcade beside the Duomo, lined with cafés and shops
• Teatro alla Scala: the opera house at the far end of the Galleria
• Sforza Castle: the fortress of the Sforza dukes, with museums and Michelangelo's Rondanini Pietà
• The Last Supper: Leonardo's mural in the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie, seen with a booked timed entry
• Navigli: the canal district south of the centre, for evening drinks, aperitivo and nightlife
• Brera: the old artists' quarter of narrow streets, with the Pinacoteca di Brera gallery
• San Siro: the football stadium shared by AC Milan and Inter, with a museum and stadium tours

Food is part of any visit to Milan: risotto alla milanese, the breaded veal cutlet known as cotoletta and, at Christmas, panettone all come from the city.

Milan Fashion Week fills the city in February and September, and the Salone del Mobile design week takes over in April.
