Virgin Atlantic Hand Baggage Allowance

The maximum dimensions for all hand luggage is 23 x 36 x 56cm, however the amount of hand luggage allowed on board and the weight depends on the class of travel:

- Little Red (UK domestic): 1 piece, 10kg maximum

- Economy: 1 piece, 10kg maximum

- Premium Economy: 1 piece, 10kg maximum

- Upper Class: 2 pieces, maximum 16kg in total, individual piece can not pass 12kg


Virgin Atlantic Checked Baggage Allowance

The maximum dimensions for all check in luggage is 90 x 75 x 43cm, however the amount of checked baggage and the weight limits depend on the class of travel:

- Little Red (UK domestic): 1 piece, 23kg total

- Economy: 1 piece, 23kg total (exceptions: 2 pieces allowed on flights between the UK and Lagos, Accra or India, and between the US and India and also between the US and India or South Africa

- Premium Economy: 2 pieces, 23kg each (exceptions: 3 pieces allowed on flights between the UK, Accra or India, and between the US and Accra or India

- Upper Class: 3 pieces, 32kg each


Virgin Atlantic Online Check-in

Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 2 hours before scheduled flight departure. With your booking reference and passport you can print your boarding pass from home and proceed directly to the airport security control if you are traveling with hand baggage only or drop checked luggage off at the Virgin Atlantic Bag Drop.

Exceptions: online check-in is not available on flights departing from Havana or Tobago.

Passengers flying out of Manchester and London Gatwick airports can download a Mobile Boarding Pass to their mobile phone and use it at designated airport touch points.
