Sometimes due to circumstances out of our control, like an airline suspending a flight, we are forced to cancel a flight. If this occurs, we will contact you immediately. However, if you find that you cannot fly and need to cancel your eDreams booking, what should you do about it? Today we will answer this question and any doubts you may have when it comes to the eDreams cancellation policy.
Cancellation and Refunds
Q: Can I cancel a booking once the ticket has been issued? Can I ask for a refund?
A: Refunds for cancelled tickets are given at the discrection of the airline on which you were due to fly. Bare in mind that the majority of low cost airlines do not offer refunds if you want to cancel a ticket.
If the airline does have a refund policy, they most likely will charge extra for this type of service. Similarly, eDreams applies an administration fee for cancellations (on top of the fee charged by the airline). This extra charge varies depending on the type of service option you’ve selected during the booking process:
- If you selected a flight with free cancellation: you have to cancel the flight within the given time period in order to receive the full refund.
- If no service option was selected but the airline agrees to a full or partial refund: eDreams takes a fee of €25.
Q: How do I cancel my flight or get a refund?
A: If you need to cancel your flight, please contact us as soon as possible. You will need to provide your booking reference, so be sure to have it on hand. Once you have informed us of your need to cancel the flight, we will process the refund and send you an e-mail letting you know how much will be credited to the card you used to purchase the tickets. This credit will be automatic, however, every refund is different and depends on the type of ticket and the airline. If we need to contact the airline for a refund authorization it may take up to three months to be able to process the refund.

Add this option onto your next booking. It will ensure that you get back 80% of the total price paid for the ticket, in the case that you need to cancel your booking. Cancellations can be done up to 24 hours before the departure of the flight.
Tip #2: Claim the taxes back on non-refundable tickets
If your ticket is non-refundable, please ask a customer service representative if you can claim some or all of the taxes charged when you bought your ticket.
