Aer Lingus General Information

Headquartered in Dublin International Airport, Aer Lingus is Ireland’s second largest airline, after low cost competitor, Ryanair. The airline offers routes to over 80 destinations in Ireland, England, Continental Europe, the United States and Northern Africa. Apart from Dublin, it has hubs in Belfast City, Cork, London Gatwick, and Shannon. Aer Lingus was founded in 1936 by the Irish Government and its first flight took off in May of the same year, in a route from Dublin to Bristol. Today, the airline employs over 4,000 people with a fleet of 45 Airbus aircraft which in 2011 flew over 9.5 million passengers.

Aer Lingus was a member of the Oneworld alliance until 2007, and today, although it is no longer part of the alliance, has maintained code share agreements with OneWorld, SkyTeam, and StarAlliance members and interline agreements with Aer Arann, JetBlue Airways, and United Airlines.

Check in available at airport a great bonus. Trolley service was efficient. Use of back and front door for speedy boarding.

Average Rating3.0/5

Staff were pleasant on both airlines - Aer Lingus and Eurowings. Our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours in D?sseldorf on the way home. We did not receive adequate information about the delay and were given meal vouchers only at the last minute. We had already spent money on snacks for the children. Staff did not apologise for delay on flight home.

I was sitting in 9A and totally shocked that a lady was behind me with a toddler on her lap pushing the back of my seat the whole trip so I couldn't sleep or relax!!!

You booked my return flight from London to Dublin (where I would get the connection to Hartford) literally 1 hour after our plane was supposed to land in London. Meridiana was delayed by 20 minutes, which caused us to completely miss our flight from London to Dublin, which caused us to miss our flight home to Hartford. We were charged $180 to change our Aer Lingus tickets to the next day even though we had no other choice, as well as pay $195 for a hotel in London since we were stuck there. I assumed the flight package you offered me had enough time in between to catch the flight from London to Dublin, however even if Meridiana Naples to London was not delayed, we likely wouldn't have made the London to Dublin anyway. Why would you offer a route home that literally did not have enough time in between flights. So now I had to spend $300 extra, along with miss a day of work because of the return route your company offered me. I was a very big fan of your company until this happened. Please make this right.
