Your guide to easyJet baggage

Check the cabin bag dimensions, weight limits and hold luggage rules for Standard and Inclusive Plus.

How easyJet's baggage allowance works

Everyone gets one small under-seat bag at no extra cost. If you need extra baggage, you'll need to select the Inclusive Plus fare or pay for an add-on.

easyJet baggage limits in brief:

* Small under-seat bag: This must fit nicely under the seat in front of you and can be no larger than 45 x 36 x 20cm (18 x 14 x 8in).

* Large cabin bag: This one goes in the overhead compartment and must not exceed 56 x 45 x 25 cm (22 x 18 x 10in).

* Hold luggage: The length + width + height of any easyJet hold luggage must not exceed 275 cm (108in). The default weight limits are 15kg (33lb) or 23kg (51lb) per bag, although you can pay for add-ons to take this up to 32kg (71lb).

Below, you can compare the easyJet Standard and Inclusive Plus allowances and see what each fare provides.

We've got the latest rules here, but airline policies can shift. Quick tip: check easyJet's site right before heading to the airport. It takes two minutes and saves hassle.

Cabin luggage

All easyJet passengers get an under-seat bag

Whether you go for Standard or Inclusive Plus, you'll be allowed to take a small item on board that fits under the seat in front of you.

Optional extra

Pay now, add later

Your initial baggage allowance isn't set in stone. If plans change and you realise you need more room in the cabin, you can add a large cabin bag after you buy your ticket.

Useful to know

Don't leave it until the day of your flight

Prices and availability vary by flight, but adding extra bags online before you head to the airport will almost always save you money.

What's included with Standard?

Here's what's included with easyJet's simplest fare category.

Maximum size 45 x 36 x 20cm (18 x 14 x 8in) Not included Not included
Maximum weight 15kg (33lb) Not included Not included

Standard allowance

With Standard, you're free to bring one small under-seat bag (45 x 36 x 20cm, up to 15kg). That's all you get included, but it's genuinely plenty for a weekend trip if you pack smart.

Need more space? You can add a large cabin bag for the overhead locker or checked luggage whenever you like. Do it whilst booking your flight, or add it later through your Manage Bookings page. Either way works.

Prices vary by route, but booking extras online before you travel almost always costs less than paying at the airport.

What's included with Inclusive Plus?

Inclusive Plus allowance

With Inclusive Plus, you can bring a small under-seat bag, a large cabin bag, and a hold bag. The standard weight limit for the hold bag is 23kg, although you can pay for add-ons to bring this up to a hard limit of 32kg.

You also get priority seat selection (choose your seat in advance online) and Speedy Boarding, so you can skip the main queue at the gate.

How to add extra bags to your easyJet flight

Choose from these extras when the standard under-seat bag isn't quite enough

Add a large cabin bag

Add a large cabin bag for travel in the overhead locker. By doing this, you'll also be entitled to Speedy Boarding.

Purchase hold luggage

Buy hold luggage online when you book or add it later. Charges vary by route and are normally lower online than at the airport.

Add sports gear separately

Planning to bring skis or a golf bag? Add it to your booking as soon as possible. Space fills up fast and booking online keeps costs lower than the airport counter.

Instruments and unusual items

Flying with an instrument? If it fits standard cabin bag limits, bring it on board with you. For anything larger, simply book an extra seat or check it into the hold.

Practical advice for measuring bags and boarding

Before you set off, grab a tape measure and check your bag's full dimensions (including wheels!). easyJet does check bag sizes at the gate, and an unexpected fee is never a great start to a trip.

A handy trick is to pack your absolute essentials, like medication, keys, and devices, inside your small under-seat bag. That way, if locker space runs out and your larger bag ends up going into the hold, you won't be caught short mid-flight.

Heads up: hold bags are weighed at check-in, so don't go over the limit or you'll face a fee at the counter.

Questions about easyJet luggage allowances

Your small under-seat bag is always free. Just keep it to 45 x 36 x 20cm and under 15kg. That's about the size of a standard cabin backpack.

A large cabin bag measuring no more than 56 x 45 x 25 cm can go in the overhead locker. This is included with Inclusive Plus.

Personal item, under-seat bag, cabin bag? It's all the same thing. One free carry-on, every time.

Yes. If you opt for Inclusive Plus, you'll be entitled to one 23kg hold bag as part of the fare.

Go to your Manage Bookings page, ring easyJet, or add at check-in (though it's pricier then).

In the cabin, smart bags with removable batteries are fine. Just remove the battery before bag drop if you're checking it.
